Charles Fey was the
inventor of the trade check separator, which he used on his first
Liberty Bell slot machines. The hole in the middle of the trade
check allowed a detecting pin to distinguish the check from a
solid nickel. When his son, Edmund, returturned
from Europe after World War I he joined his father and the compny
was changed from Charles Fey & Company to Charles Fey &
Son. Tokens were issued in the 1920s and are original.
